My Whole World Just Flipped Upside Down
It seems like just when everything is going well the world decides to just flip me upside down. I mean really, is it so much to ask that things run smoothly for a bit? For me to have just a wee bit less stress for a few days? I guess maybe it is…….
I’ve been dealing with a few different health issues that led me to go see the doctor. I hate, hate, hate going to the doctor. Honestly, I wait until everything else has been tried before I’ll go. It’s not that I don’t like doctors or that I’m scared of them. It’s just that I don’t like or trust most medicines….. Too many bad experiences, personally and through family members. I’m an all natural girl, as much as possible anyway.
But, traditional medicine has its place, I suppose…. (((maybe)))
Anyway… While at the doctor, she noticed that my thyroid was swollen. I hadn’t noticed, but I guess that is what they are trained to do. She sent me down for an ultrasound and blood work. Results came back with possible issues, some abnormalities, but they needed more tests to determine what the issue was.
A month passes by while I’m waiting for the next set of tests. Because, you know, waiting and patience is really my strong suit… I wasn’t a walking bundle of nerves just waiting to lash out at anyone dumb enough to annoy me. ((sorry to those I snarled at))
It seems that my body is attacking itself.
The results came back that my thyroid is under attack.
How does this happen???
I’d never heard the word Hashimoto’s before that day last week. It scared me. Hashimoto’s is an autoimmune disorder that, according to conventional medicine, nothing can be done about (to cure it anyway).
I’ve been a bit emotional lately. I’m trying to figure it all out. I’ll be doing a lot of research to determine what steps I can take to heal myself naturally and otherwise. I’ve implemented a few things already.
Along the way, I’ll be posting what I find. What I’ve found helpful or not so helpful.
I still feel like my world whole world has flipped upside down, but I’m going to be positive and proactive.
If you have Hashimoto’s and have any advice I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for reading. For now I’m going to kick back and enjoy the view.
Thank you for reading a story from #BehindTheBlogger Hop. Every 2 weeks a group of bloggers is given a writing prompt. These prompts are very open ended, so our bloggers can write about whatever they desire. The main rule is that their blog post directly relates to the topic of that week. The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.
Please hop along and read all of the blog posts in this weeks hop. Just click the links below. If you want real and raw emotion, then you will find it here. After you read each post, please comment and share. We want to get to know you too!
