Low Carb Pizza Crust Recipe

You can now truly enjoy gluten free pizza with this low carb pizza crust recipe! One of the things most missing from a low carb diet is the staple pizza. Pizza is one of those foods that almost everyone loves. I know it ranks right up there as one of my very favorite foods. Easy to eat, no knife or fork required (well, unless you are all prim and proper but I don’t fall in that category). The gluten free low carb pizza crust recipe has a wonderful flavor, texture, and stays in one piece when picked up. All those things are absolutely necessary when it comes to pizza.

Low Carb Pizza Crust Recipe:

  • 3 cups Mozzarella

  • 3 Tbs Cream Cheese

  • 1.5 cups Almond flour

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 tsp Xantham Gum

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tsp Oregano

To make the gluten free low carb gluten free pizza crust recipe, start by grating the mozzarella or send it through a food processor to grate it up coarsely. Place the shredded mozzarella and cream cheese in an oiled glass microwave proof bowl. (Oiling saves you a lot of scrubbing later.) Microwave until cheese is completely melted, stirring at least once. This takes about three minutes in my 1200w microwave. While microwaving the cheese, whisk the egg until it is a light yellow color.  Once whisked, add the spices and stir. With the cheeses still warm, add the egg mixture, xantham gum, and the almond flour and stir. This part takes a strong spoon as the cheese is gooey. I usually end up setting the spoon to the side and kneading the mixture by hand. Once all the ingredients are completely incorporated pat out onto a parchment lined baking pan. I like to use a silicone baking mat like this one from BakeItFun.

Bake in a 350 degree F preheated oven for 15 minutes or until lightly browned on top.  Allow it to cool slightly and add pizza toppings of choice and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
