LINKYO Kitchen Compost Bin Review

LINKYO Kitchen Compost Bin Review

Helping the earth is extremely important to me and my family. We’ve found that composting is a great way to use up things that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. The main issue with composting our kitchen scraps is that they sit in a bucket or a bowl on the counter and just look horrible and attract insects. I really hate having to deal with insects in my home, so anything that helps minimize this is great.

The LINKYO kitchen compost bin is a lovely and less smelly way to collect compost for the garden or to collect scraps for my chickens. I can see me using it in both ways honestly. During the winter months, most of my scraps are for the chickens to provide them a few extras in the fresh food department. This helps keep them healthy and happy, which in turn means more eggs and much less fuss. During the summer, the chickens free range and my kitchen scraps get placed in the compost pile.

The compost bin is nicely designed to keep things in with a minimum of odors getting out. The lid fits snug on the top and has holes to allow oxygen to flow or to release the gasses inside. This compost bin has a filter that traps the smells and keeps the kitchen from smelling horrible. The system also helps in preventing fruit flies which seem to multiply in seconds the minute they find anything they like.

The handle is nice and sturdy. Very comfortable to carry out to the compost pile or chicken coop. The bin itself is made from nice looking stainless steel and fits easily underneath my kitchen sink. Because of the filters, though, it is not really a problem to leave it sitting out on the kitchen counter if space is at a premium. The stainless steel construction means that it goes with just about any décor, too.

The bin comes with an extra supply of activated charcoal filters, which should last quite some time. Not only do these filters help keep odors at a minimum, but since the bin itself is stainless steel, it does not retain odors like plastic bins do, making it a breeze to wash out and keep smell-free. There really is no reason not to use the LinkYo kitchen compost bin if you’re a fan of composting or simply want to minimize your kitchen waste.
